Elisa
S. Worthington joined Garvin & Tripp as an associate in 1998,
after graduating with high honors from the University of Florida
College of Law. While in law school, Elisa served as a member
of the Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Team. A recipient of
the William C. Gaither Memorial Award for Outstanding Moot Court
Team Member, she earned her place on the Team in the Fall 1996
Intramural Competition, arguing a case before the Florida Supreme
Court and winning, for the first time in Moot Court history, all
four awards: Best Brief, Best Team, Best Oralist, and Best Overall
Competitor. Elisa went on to win Best Oralist at the 1997 Spong
Moot Court Tournament at William and Mary, and swept the awards
at the 1997 Florida Bar Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition,
again arguing before the Florida Supreme Court. Along with her
Moot Court accomplishments, Elisa earned Book Awards in Labor
Law, Legal Drafting, Criminal Procedure, Civil Clinic, Negotiation,
and Trial Practice. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, The Order
of Barristers and The Order of the Coif.
At
Garvin & Tripp, Elisa’s practice involves general civil
litigation, at the trial and appellate levels, in both state and
federal courts. She is admitted to practice in all state and federal
courts in Florida; the Eleventh Circuit United States Court of
Appeals; and the United States Supreme Court. Elisa also serves
as a Child Support Enforcement Hearing Officer for the Twentieth
Judicial Circuit.
Elisa
is a member of The Florida Bar; the Lee County, Federal, and American
Bar Associations; The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers; and The
Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
